Andi Engle

I was born and raised in a unique blend of environments, spending my childhood years in both West Texas and Southeast New Mexico. Growing up in these diverse regions shaped my outlook on life and instilled in me a deep appreciation for community, resilience, and the importance of education. These early experiences laid the foundation for my passion for learning and my desire to make a difference in the lives of students.

My professional journey began after I attended the University of New Mexico, where I earned my degree in Education and Administration. Eager to make a difference in students’ lives, I started my teaching career in Belen, New Mexico, teaching kindergarten for four years. Those early years were filled with joy, challenges, and invaluable lessons about nurturing young minds.

After my time in the classroom, I transitioned into a district-level role as the Title IV/SAT Coordinator for Belen Schools, a position I held for three years. In this role, I collaborated with schools to improve student achievement and support educational programs.

In 2005, I moved to Hobbs, New Mexico, where I continued my teaching career—first teaching elementary school for a year and then middle school for three years. During this period, I developed a deeper understanding of diverse grade levels and student needs.

My passion for leadership grew, and I became the Language Arts Coordinator for the district, a role I cherished for four years. In 2013, I took a significant step in my career by becoming the assistant principal at Highland Middle School. This position allowed me to work closely with staff and students to foster a positive learning environment.

Later, I was privileged to serve as the principal of Will Rogers Elementary for six years, overseeing school operations and working toward student success. My desire to serve on a broader level led me to the district’s central office as the Deputy Superintendent of Special Services, a position I loved for four years.

Currently, I am in my second year as Deputy Superintendent of Human Resources, where I am committed to supporting district staff and ensuring we have the best talent to serve our students. Each step of my career has strengthened my dedication to education and my passion for making a meaningful impact in the school community.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, three grown kids, four grandkids, and our two precious pups. I love playing golf, fishing, and spending time outdoors, which helps me stay connected to the things I cherish most.
